Diffusion models have recently received increasing research attention for their remarkable transfer abilities in semantic segmentation tasks. However, generating fine-grained segmentation masks with diffusion models often requires additional training on annotated datasets, leaving it unclear to what extent pre-trained diffusion models alone understand the semantic relations of their generated images. To address this question, we leverage the semantic knowledge extracted from Stable Diffusion (SD) and aim to develop an image segmentor capable of generating fine-grained segmentation maps without any additional training. The primary difficulty stems from the fact that semantically meaningful feature maps typically exist only in the spatially lower-dimensional layers, which poses a challenge in directly extracting pixel-level semantic relations from these feature maps. To overcome this issue, our framework identifies semantic correspondences between image pixels and spatial locations of low-dimensional feature maps by exploiting SD's generation process and utilizes them for constructing image-resolution segmentation maps. In extensive experiments, the produced segmentation maps are demonstrated to be well delineated and capture detailed parts of the images, indicating the existence of highly accurate pixel-level semantic knowledge in diffusion models.

Methods for image-to-video generation have achieved impressive, photo-realistic quality. However, adjusting specific elements in generated videos, such as object motion or camera movement, is often a tedious process of trial and error, e.g., involving re-generating videos with different random seeds. Recent techniques address this issue by fine-tuning a pre-trained model to follow conditioning signals, such as bounding boxes or point trajectories. Yet, this fine-tuning procedure can be computationally expensive, and it requires datasets with annotated object motion, which can be difficult to procure. In this work, we introduce SG-I2V, a framework for controllable image-to-video generation that is self-guided$\unicode{x2013}$offering zero-shot control by relying solely on the knowledge present in a pre-trained image-to-video diffusion model without the need for fine-tuning or external knowledge. Our zero-shot method outperforms unsupervised baselines while significantly narrowing down the performance gap with supervised models in terms of visual quality and motion fidelity. We present Vista4D, a robust and flexible video reshooting framework that grounds the input video and target cameras in a 4D point cloud. Specifically, given an input video, our method re-synthesizes the scene with the same dynamics from a different camera trajectory and viewpoint. Existing video reshooting methods often struggle with depth estimation artifacts of real-world dynamic videos, while also failing to preserve content appearance and failing to maintain precise camera control for challenging new trajectories. We build a 4D-grounded point cloud representation with static pixel segmentation and 4D reconstruction to explicitly preserve seen content and provide rich camera signals, and we train with reconstructed multiview dynamic data for robustness against point cloud artifacts during real-world inference. Our results demonstrate improved 4D consistency, camera control, and visual quality compared to state-of-the-art baselines under a variety of videos and camera paths. Moreover, our method generalizes to real-world applications such as dynamic scene expansion and 4D scene recomposition.
