/ Abstract
The m ass dependence ofthe M 3Y -type e(cid:11)ective interactions and the e(cid:11)ects of tensor correlations are exam ined. Two-body nuclear m atrix elem ents are obtained by the lowest order constrained variational(LO CV ) technique with and without tensorcorrelations.W e have found thatthe tensorcorrelationsare im portantespe-cially in thetriplet-even (TE)and tensor-even (TN E)channelsin orderto reproduce theG -m atrix elem entsobtained previously. Then M 3Y -type potentialsforinelastic scattering are obtained by (cid:12)tting our two body m atrix elem ents to those ofa sum ofYukawa functionsforthe m assnum bers A = 24, A = 40 and A = 90.
