A Remark on the Method of Electron Beam Energy Measurement Using Laser Light Resonance Absorption

Theproblem ofm easuring ofthe electron beam energy by help ofthe laserlight interaction with the electrons is discussed. It is shown that the orthogonalorientation ofthe laser beam with respect to the electron one,proposed in the present N ote,m ay allow to perform this m easurem ent in accordance with the physicalna-ture ofa form ation ofan electron quantum levelsin a m agnetic (cid:12)eld.In result,the (cid:12)nalform ula,that expresses the beam energy through the strength ofa m agnetic (cid:12)eld and theenergy ofthelaserphoton,getsa transparentphysicalm eaning and do contain a lessnum berofparam eters(whatm ay lead to an increase ofthe precision of the m easurem ent). Som e other sequences from this proposal, like the change ofthe geom etry ofthe experim entalset-up and the necessity ofa new additional detector to register the products ofthe Com pton scattering for m onitoring ofthe beam energy m easurem ents,are discussed also.
