Hadronic decays of beauty and charm from CLEO

/ Abstract
A selection of recent results on hadronic charm and beauty decays from the CLEO experiment are presented. We report preliminary evidence for the existence of final state interactions in B decays and the first observation of the decay B0→D*+D*− with a branching fraction of (7.8−3.8+5.4±1.5)×10−4. We also present preliminary results on the first observation of the broad, JP=1+, charmed meson resonance with a mass of mD1(j=1/2)0=2.461−0.34+0.41±0.010±0.032 GeV and a width of Γ=290−79+101±26±36 MeV and branching fraction measurements of the B−→DJ0π−1 decay. Finally, we report on our search for the radial excitation of a spin 1 charmed meson, the D*′1, and on an improved measurement of the ratio of decay rates Γ(D0→K+π−)/Γ(D0→K−π+).A selection of recent results on hadronic charm and beauty decays from the CLEO experiment are presented.
