Abstract We discuss the local density of states (LDOS) of the semi-infinite conducting carbon nanotube based on the bosonization theory of one-dimensional electron systems with open boundaries. The dependences of the spatially slowly varying component of the LDOS on location, energy and temperature are investigated.
