True superconductivity in a two-dimensional superconducting-insulating system

/ Abstract
We present results on disordered amorphous films which are expected to undergo a field-tuned superconductor-insulator transition. Based on resistance and $I\ensuremath{-}V$ characteristics, we find evidence of a low field metal-to-superconductor transition. This transition is characterized by a rapid drop in resistance and discontinuities in the $I\ensuremath{-}V$ curves. The metallic phase just above the transition seems to be an unusual, non-Fermi metal and the superconducting phase seems to be a true zero resistance state.
